Teenagers today have to cope with multiple situations that test their skills in all areas, be it academic, co-curricular or personal. The term a�?Life Skillsa�� refers to the skills that enable students to deal effectively with all these situations. These life skills equip students to thrive in the classroom and in the world beyond.

The Youth Empowerment Seminar (YES!), a 12-18 hour workshop offered by The Art of Living trains teenagers in life skills through techniques that foster human values and social and emotional skills. Teenagers learn how to handle their emotions, how to increase their academic capacity by increasing mental clarity and focus and how to balance their response to various stressful situations that they face. The workshop is taught through games, activities and interactive sessions.

Physical Well Being and Emotional Skills

The workshop curriculum includes stretches, yoga and a unique breathing technique called Sudarshan Kriya. The Sudarshan Kriya relaxes the mind, helps release stress and eliminates fear, anxiety, depression and other negative emotions. Practice of Sudarshan Kriya greatly increases mental clarity and focus.

Social Skills

Through fun and interactive processes, teenagers learn how to handle peer-pressure, manage expectations, work in harmony with others and develop a sense of belonging and a positive outlook. Most importantly, they learn how to be natural and how to have conviction in themselves. The processes reinforce human values and improve the studentsa�� interpersonal skills.

Study Tools

Simple study tools and techniques that help in improving memory and concentration are taught during the course of the workshop. These techniques along with the practice of Sudarshan Kriya help them to improve their academic abilities.

The Youth Empowerment Seminar helps teenagers to gain the confidence they need to excel in all aspects be it academic, social and extracurricular and enables them to deal with challenges that life brings.


I got peace of mind now because of Sudarshan Kriya. Normally I used to be tense and used to get angry fast and used to cry for small things everyday. But in these 4 days,I never cried or got angry a lot. This is what I was waiting for!
